Anniversary Narrows - Lake Mead
A few miles of 4 wheeling and we are at the edge of Lovell Wash. Although this appears to be a short distance down, we're approximately 100 feet above the floor of the wash. Linda made this trip twice in January '02, once with Stan and once with Tom...both hikes were great.
The wash is directly in front of us. The pinkish mound on the ridge above the wash is the dump from one of the Ore Car Mines.
After Tom and Linda hiked down into the wash, they hiked up the other side (view above) and looked back across the area where they parked the truck...just below the ghastly sunspot, you'll see the red arrow pointing to the truck.
Looking to the left of the parking area, the terrain is beautifully sculptured and has a pattern and character that could never be described in words. Tom and Linda venture into the wash in front of us - going left from this shot - to the Narrows.
