A cactus in bloom. Flowers were everywhere on the trail up to the cave.
The trail behind us as we climb up the canyon.
Wayne relaxing along the trail. Note the thistle on the right. .
The trail we climbed behind Wayne...he said he was serious here because he was looking for snakes. :-)
The ceiling in the cave. The stalactites are broken off...mankind. These tiny nipples are forming again with the moisture from the rains.
The cave is bowl shaped. Approximately 15 feet of head room in the middle of it, branching out into edges, it is also known as 'the hippie cave'.
To the right of this wall, a ledge and drop is evident. I had no intention of ever sliding into an enclosed space...claustrophobic as hell. The drop appears to go somewhere else but I'm not checking it out.
Greg and Amy posed for me here. Lots of graffiti and 'tea candles' adorn all the spaces available on the rocks in the cave...sad. Why can't mankind leave things as we find them?
He's smiling. That means he didn't find any snakes!!!! Love that guy!
Chad! First to test the waters, no fear....the kid had a birthday on Sunday. Friends...what else needs to be said here!
Amy couldn't resist. This rock is wedged between the canyon wall and a rock that covers the entrance to the cave. Chit Mon!
The security guards of nature's trails.
A grotto in the canyon, below the cave.
The cave is hidden, to the left of the tree in the canyon wall.
The sun is up. We are on our way out of the canyon.
